There can be many symptoms of a person with anxiety and here we will try to all of the signs of the anxiety disorder. The common symtom of all anxiety sufferers is that they all have a high sense of fear or worry in situations where most other people would not feel it is dangerous.
Physical symptoms of anxiety
Because anxiety is not just a mental illness it also can affect the body physically, quite often people with anxiety will think they have some sort of disease which is affecting their body when really it is their anxious thoughts that the body is reacting to.
- heart beating fast (mistaken for heart attack)
- Sweating
- Stomach ache and dizziness
- Frequent urination or diarrhea
- Shortness of breath
- Tense muscles
- Headaches (migrains)
- Insomsia (inability to sleep because of constant worry)
- Feeling tired (fatigue)
Emotional symptoms of anxiety
As well as the extreme sense of fear the follow can also occur:
- Fear of bad situations coming (often the worst possiible outcome)
- Trouble concentrating
- Feeling tense and jumpy
- Looking for signs of danger
- Never feeling settled (restlessness)
- Easily irated
Often people with anxiety will also suffer from depression.
